As believers, you and I have a map in our hand, and it’s called the Bible, you know, emblazoned on its pages is every tool you need to live a life of victory and freedom. The covenant is laid bare on its pages, man. Every blood board promise carries and bears your name. And I may say it may sound kind of far fetched, but it’s absolutely true. The Covenant brought you into the household of the covenant maker. You who were a far off I, who was a far off I, who was an alien to the household of God, was brought in not only as a servant, not only as someone who’s tolerated, but as a beloved son or a beloved daughter.

How amazing is that? And this same covenant, you know, he did not make some flimsy contract. Yeah, he did. He did not make just this kind of flip flop agreement that’s prone to change and prone to chance. You know, it’s not a this this agreement was not scrawled on the page and disappearing ink man. It was carved into a contract, into a covenant, into a an everlasting agreement that can never, ever be broken.

Jesus said this world will pass away. There’s no this world, this universe that we presently know will all of it will pass away. But his words will remain. I mean, how how much more certain, how much more solid do you need something to be before you’re willing to step out on it and make it your bedrock for living? You know, the covenant that we were cut into was made by Almighty God himself. And the words of that covenant are recorded forever in this book.

Yeah, that will live far beyond the wrapping up of this age in this world. So sure, its promise is that it will never, ever pass away. These are the promises that we have been given to wield in the prayer closet. I mean, just woop, woop, woop. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on, bring it on. Let it be, let it happen. Let me step in and let me take a hold of these eternal promises.

Mountains will crumble before the promises that belong to you and I will ever, ever fall. Yeah. Mountains will crumble into the sea and these promises that are so solid and so true won’t even feel even the slightest breath. They won’t tremble. Not even an inch. The gospel on which you stand these eternal promises that fuelled your petitions, this book that you hold in your hand there have been opened wide for you to embrace and to begin to put to work on behalf of yourself, your family, your community.

Prayer is the place where these promises of possessed prayer is the place where these promises are opened up to us and we take a hold of them and are praying the word of God from your lips. We’re like from the heart, you know, nourish your heart with the truth. Let your spirit man chew on the reality of the covenant. And before you know it, those same words will be coming up and coming out of your mouth infused with faith to actually take a hold of them and see them come to pass.

Scripture tells us that Jesus is the high priest of our confession. Hebrews chapter three, verse one. I mean, how magnificent to know that Jesus himself is there as the high priest of our confession, to receive the words that we send up in prayer and speak out in prayer. The word used for confession here literally means to say the same thing as or to speak after. And Jesus is not going to act as an advocate for words that are going to destroy you for any negative accusations you throw at yourself, untruths that undermine your worth.

He is not going to engage with those. But when we speak out the words of the covenant, when we take the declarations and the truths from the Bible and speak them from our heart, he acts as an advocate. Jesus acts as an advocate to bring those confessions to the father on our behalf. He said, speak after me, say, see what I’ve said, and say it yourself, make it your own such powerful truths. And moreover, he did not leave us alone to save the promises out.

He actually sent the Holy Ghost and commissioned him to take up residence in our heart. And he said this of the Holy Spirit, bring all that. He has been sent to bring all things to your remembrance, whatever he has spoken to you. You have the god of heaven living in your heart. He doesn’t, you know, and he doesn’t bring things to your mind just so you can win a Bible quiz. He brings them to your remembrance in the heat of whatever battle you might be fighting.

And your tongue becomes a two edged sword, slicing through the lies and slaying Satan in whatever whatever deception he might be coming to. Try and convince you with God’s word, my dear friends, is unstoppable. It is unbeatable. And as far as that and as far as the devil is concerned, it is unbearable. This book that you hold in your hand, that you hide in your heart is the most powerful, the most enduring and the most essential thing in all of life.

And I just encourage you to, like, crack open the spine and drink deep of the truth that you find in its pages, you just let the sweetness of God’s words go deep, deep, deep down on the inside of your heart and then just lift them back to him in prayer, as we saw the word confession speaking the same thing as let his words be on in your heart and on your lips today. I’m just just I mean, honestly, I cannot think of anything more exciting and I cannot think of anything more powerful than God’s words spoken from I believe in God, in prayer, in Jesus mighty name.
