Jesus is a master of new perspectives.
He lifted you from the hole to Heavenly places.
“High above” (Ephesians 2:6; Ephesians 1:21) describes your new location.
That’s a new perspective!
Praise God, we were in the mire, but He lifted us higher!
Holes
We often think that the low places are the biggest challenge to our faith.
But I've often found the holes, however painful, are also a place of raw revelation.
The valleys often have life-changing stories to tell and teach, and they're hard to ignore. The deepest caverns often yield the richest diamonds.
The really dangerous territory is the in-between.
The flatlands where most of life lived.
Mired in the messy everyday, surrounded by the commonplace clamour for your attention.
It’s here that a new sofa becomes more significant than a soul, or a celebrity scandal screams louder than the hungry whisper of your spirit for something real.
And Highs…
Prayer is the elevator above all of that chaos. Prayer is the place where we remember who we are.
It’s here that the sofa fades and the throne emerges.
This is where scandal is sidelined, and the gentle voice of the Spirit silences the noise.
My prayer is that these highlands of prayer will become your vantage point.
That the “high above” will be your firm footing for each day and every decision.
As Papa said to John, and now says to you, “Come up here”.
I’ll see you at the top. 😄
