“A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!” (Proverbs 15:23 KJV)
Life is lived in seasons.
And by words.
Each season, some short and some long, will have a word that will empower and equip you for victory.
A word in season split the Red Sea for Israel to cross over.
A word in season turned waves into a walkway for Peter.
A word in season brought Jericho’s walls tumbling to the floor.
But Joshua didn’t traverse the next city boundary for seven days. The season had changed, and with it, the word that informed the right actions to take.
Weariness comes when we walk contrary to the winds of the season we are in.
“The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” (Isaiah 50:4 KJV)
Learn to listen, and to lean with the season in whatever direction the Lord will lead.
Actions inspired by and empowered by a season word will carry you through.
And sometimes, all the time, we need to incline our ear morning by morning to stay in step.
“let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25)
Amen!
