Jesus stood up on the last day of the feast and shouted above the din:
“…If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37–38 KJV)
From the deep seat of the soul, the innermost cave of the man or woman, the throbbing fertile womb of the spirit, something untouched by human hands will flow. Life will be birthed and gush forth.
“…this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive” (John 7:39 KJV)
Do you believe?
If your answer is yes, the next question swiftly follows.
It was asked many years ago to a thirsty group of Ephesian believers:
“Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?” (Acts 19:2 KJV)
Here is the a wellspring of prayer. The indwelling God infusing every expression of your heart with His own faith and fire.
The disciples were counselled to wait in Jerusalem until. Until what? The endowment of power from on High. The infilling of the Holy Ghost.
Despite the foolish arguments of unbelieving-believers who insist that such supernatural manifestations died with the last apostle, there are millions of flaming reasons to reject their reasoning.
Baptism in the glorious Holy Ghost is a promise given to you, to your children and the their children after them, as many as God shall call. If He has not ceased calling, the promise remains active!
“… Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39 KJV)
I was afar off, and I heard the call.
So did you.
You qualify for the infilling.
If you have never spoken in tongues, today is your day, dear friend.
Close the door to any past disappointments. Lay to rest any reasons why not.
Enter your closet and simply bring your request to the Father:
“Father, your Son said, “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”” (Luke 11:11–13 KJV)
“I’m asking today. The Promise is to all who believe, and that’s me. I demand with all humility, that you fulfil your promise in me and baptise me with the Holy Ghost!”
Then, without hesitation or second-guessing, open your mouth and speak the very first sounds that bubble up from your belly. And the next, and the next. Prime the pump with your will and your faith engaged and in agreement, knowing that God is faithful to His Word, until the flow bubbles up from your inner man.
There is a receiving by faith that takes place. A childlike acceptance of the supernatural. A warm embrace of the Word that denies and discounts what anyone else may say to dissuade.
Baptism in the Spirit, with the manifestation and proof of praying in tongues, is available to anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and has accepted Him as Lord and Saviour.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name… they shall speak with new tongues;” (Mark 16:17 KJV)
Tongues opens up dimensions of prayer that will blow the lid off your prayer closet.
Receiving the baptism is not something you need to strain for or seek to earn, it’s a given to those who believe.
It may sound simplistic, but adding complexity may well be the reason you have not previously received as you expected to. Shed the old, and embrace this most beautiful promise.
Accept it with childlike simplicity and speak in tongues today!
