The Holy Ghost says so eloquently:
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…” (Zechariah 4:10 NLT)
What work has He directed you to begin?
Have you started yet, even with faltering steps?
Why does God feel it necessary to encourage us in this way?
Because it’s easy to despise those first tiny steps. You feel small and insignificant, and the mountain range of unknowns ahead of you can be daunting.
Take your first step anyway. Followed by the second and the next.
Every great work has an inauspicious beginning. The crowds are not banging down the door. The world is blissfully and busily ignorant of the things you are building.
But God is not.
He rejoices to see work begin.
Acting on your ideas is pregnant with faith, and the LORD loves faith!
“But without faith it is impossible to please him” (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)
But with faith?
That’s when things become possible.
“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23 KJV)
God is pleased to take those early steps with you.
And with each faithful creative step you take you deepen your ties with the Creator who lives within you. Don’t let fear stop you starting.
