It’s 3:28 am.
Silence fills the air.
The daily buzz of the world’s incessant motion has slowed to a halt and while the world sleeps my heart goes out to the One who made the worlds.
Living in the beauty of this verse is my greatest joy.
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;” (Psalm 63:1 KJV)
For you, there may be other times of day that lend themselves more readily to shutting out the noise and reaching your heart into His.
The key thing is intention.
Without intention, prayer is sidelined.
Seeking is relegated to snatched moments in overburdened schedules.
I’ve often said that your schedule should not rule your prayer life, your prayer life should rule your schedule. Prioritise prayer and ringfence the time required to deeply saturate your spirit.
“Seek first” – as your #1 priority – “and all these things (the things we spend most of our time chasing) will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
Put PRAYER in your calendar, and when someone else or something else vies for those prayer-priority times tell them you already have an appointment with your Dad.
A prosperous life is one lived in the spirit, untethered from transitory pursuits and tied to the eternal.
When Heaven fills your thoughts the world outside takes on a different shine!
