Feeling overwhelmed?
Like a car caught in ten lanes of traffic, life can feel like it’s pushing you forward and you’re trapped in the undertow. The driven flow of humanity, awash with dreams and fears, tugs and tussles in every direction. Precious days lost to distraction. Signposts shouting their philosophies, clawing for your eyes and their slice of the pie.
Is it any wonder that most folks live in a perpetual state of mild anxiety?
Maybe today would be a good time to pull over and pause?
Jesus is waiting, and His table is spread.
Asaph asked, “Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?” (Psalm 78:19 KJV)
The answer is, yes, He can, and He has.
However dry the wilderness in your heart appears. However empty the landscape looks, with its bustling crowds and blaring horns. However crippled you feel right now, like Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9) you have an open invitation to sit at the King’s table.
The answer to overwhelm is not putting your foot to the floor hoping you’ll catch up. The world for the most part is rushing toward it’s own destruction.
Take a breath, friend.
The Rock was struck, and His life was poured out so you could drink deeply and be refreshed.
“Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed” (Psalm 78:20 KJV)
Pull over, pause, and press your heart into Jesus.
Stay there long enough for your fears to dissipate and for your perspective to change.
