I've prayed this Psalm more than any other…
“Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.”(Psalm 25:4 NKJV)
God has ways.
Psalm 84: 5 reads:
“Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways.”
It speaks of “a trodden road”, “a course of life and mode of action”, “a conversation”.
Something here is so beautifully mysterious that I want to discover more. I want those words trodden into the fertile soil of my heart!
There are ways that He works. Ways that He speaks. Ways that He thinks.
High ways.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8–9 KJV)
Following the Way
The early church were not religious adherents, they were “followers of the way” (Acts 9:2, 22:4, and 24:14)
Christian life is a way.
A road we walk with Jesus.
Not a religion, not ascribing to a strict set of rules or a badge we wear on Sunday morning.
Holy living is a way of thinking, a way of speaking, a way of doing that defies common understanding.
A life lived in close fellowship with the maker of the ways, who leads us daily to victory.
“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25 ESV)
