“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion…”
Genesis 1:27–28 KJV
Where does this dominion begin? Right here, right now, friend.
Self-mastery is the starting line of dominion.
Fruitfulness and multiplication rest on the command of mastery. If we fail to subdue our propensity to excuse ourselves (“it’s not my fault, the woman told me to do it”, “It’s not my responsibility, the serpent told me to do it”) we’ll continue as we always were. Worse still, we’ll diminish in our own eyes and hide away in a fig leaf life.
Purposeful productivity is really the mastery of time and energy in positive productive ways that bless mankind.
At base, I think it boils down to simply saying yes to the things you know you need to say yes to, and no to the things you don’t.
It comes down to the mastery of that moment of decision.
Shall I / shan’t I?
Master that second in time and your future will be transformed.
You face them every day. Sometimes many times a day.
The key to mastery is what you do with them.
It is the “second guess” and the “alternative to acting on your instinct” that often swipes the legs out from under you.
Learn to trust your inner (and I will use a good old King James word here) unction.
“But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.” (1 John 2:20 KJV)
Read that again, friend.
You know more than you realize or give yourself credit for!
Moving into a place of trust is built by acting on the unction – that inside “knowing in the moment” – and doing so without allowing doubt and self-loathing to talk you out of it.
I’m tempted to elaborate but feel that it would be counter-productive to try and justify or explain what I mean.
You already know what I’m talking about, and you experience it every day.
The question is, are you mastering the moment (of decision), and fast-acting on the unction?
The answer?
You tell me.
