Some fear it. Some laud it.
But like or loathe it, Pandora’s box is off its hinges.
AI is upon us. Science fiction has become actual fact; because of it, the creative realms are experiencing a seismic shift.
Artificial Intelligence is already transforming how we interact and communicate and its abilities will become more and more remarkable and refined the more we interact.
So how do we as Christian creatives respond?
I can only share my thoughts and limited experience, and aside from any moral implications you might struggle with, the revolution is upon us. We can ride the crest or the tail, but the day has come when AI will undoubtedly be integral to our online existence, especially as content creators.
Initially, I was reluctant to admit how powerless I was to prevent AI from crashing into my day. I closed my eyes and ears believing that the technology still had some way to go before it came knocking on my door and mirroring my skills.
But I was wrong. AI is no longer limping into existence. It’s leapfrogging every objection and making its presence felt wherever you turn.
My initial opposition is now admitting the possibility that this is an opportunity to be embraced.
An astonishing one if you think about it.
AI provides a store of knowledge so vast it’s inconceivable. It’s the hive mind of human history at your fingertips.
It can mimic humanity in a spookily accurate way, and the blurred line between artificial and actual intelligence is becoming ever fainter.
But it lacks one thing.
Wisdom.
The ocean depths of accumulated knowledge are a drop in the ocean compared to the AI I am speaking of.
The Almighty Intelligence.
The Awesome Intellect.
Adonai’s Ingenuity.
Hallelujah!
You have access to resources more colossal than a bank of databases stretching to the moon and back. A mind so vast, so beautiful, so magnificent and glorious, no human could ever conceive its depths.
A Person “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3 KJV)
Intelligence is one thing. But some of the most “intelligent” people are as dumb as a doorpost when it comes to spiritual things.
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1 KJV)
“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man,” (Romans 1:22–23 KJV)
Wisdom is quite another.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10 KJV)
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” (1 Corinthians 1:30 KJV)
Wisdom will lead you and show you how to harness every development. He will show which ones to embrace and harness, and which ones to discard.
Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge rightly. To know the right thing to do and to do it right!
Wisdom guards you and guides you.
Wisdom shows the way.
Yes, embrace the modern advantages AI might afford, but never forget that there are realms hidden from even the most invasive technologies.
Hidden for those who set themselves apart to seek God and find God.
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:” (1 Corinthians 2:7 KJV)
