Peace is more precious than pounds and pence.
Whatever your currency, there’s not enough of it on the planet worth searing your conscience for.
As the Preacher says in Ecclesiastes,
“Better is a handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.” (Ecclesiastes 4:6 KJV)
Travail meaning, “toil, i.e. wearing effort; hence, worry, whether of body or mind”
Vexation meaning, “a feeding upon, i.e. grasping after”
“Better a handful” is a far cry from the get-all-you-can philosophy driving the world.
“Enough” is a beautiful word.
There is a peaceful way to prosperity, and it begins with quietness of soul. When your soul prospers, rooted in God’s fidelity, your fruit will follow (3 John 2).
Don’t circumvent the process.
Find your place of peace in the presence of God first. Make it your great quest to discover more of Him. To become His friend.
Don’t be distracted by doom-scrolling shouts telling you faster, bigger, better and more beautiful is the way to happiness and fulfilment.
Take a breath, and let fear fly away.
Remember, “The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.” (Proverbs 21:5 KJV)
Big dreams and great destinies are lived in small steps.
Papa is faithful, and your daily walk with Him determines your destination.
