Let’s get down to business. Don’t be reasonable!
Don’t reason yourself out of your ambitious ideas. Don’t second-guess your nicest notions.
I can assure you that as soon as you embark on the journey toward sharing your worth, that the worthless old snake, satan, will slither into your thoughts and start seeking to undermine your confidence.
I don’t want to prophesy it, or invite it, but it’s a common affliction. The devil does NOT want you outside of yourself and inside your creative calling, serving, helping, and liberating others with your knowledge.
He is a liar, but a masterful and very persuasive one.
But so am I!
Not a lair. But persuasive.
I’m here to persuade you,
Prevail upon you,
Talk you into,
Coax and convince you,
Press you forward,
Induce,
Win over,
To bring you round,
Influence, sway, prompt, and cajole,
Prod, provoke, inspire, and urge you on,
Sweet-talk, smooth-talk, soft-soap, and if necessary twist your arm.
Whatever it takes to shift your thinking, and get you moving with intention toward invention.
You have something special to bring to the table. Something uniquely and unmistakably you.
A voice that’s yours alone.
The thing is…
Your voice will only be found by using it.
That means, dear creative friend, that you’ll have to shut that naughty nay-sayer, crush your inner-critic, and DO IT DESPITE THE FEAR!
Become a master at self-mastery, and leave yourself with no reasonable excuse NOT to act on your ideas. Be of the mind that to NOT do is far more painful and costly than staying safe. Sure your odyssey will present many obstacles along the way, but the spoils of whatever battles you win along the way will far outweigh the bruises you will bear as testament to your courage.
You are unique, and there is no one can bring your special to the banquet.
Be a content cook, and start thinking of tasty ways to share your awesome.
Oh, and while you are at it, next time he comes knocking, tell the devil to shut his slimy mouth.
