Building your online presence and a profitable lifestyle business does not need to to be complicated.
One of the dangers in building an online business is the myth that you have to be everywhere, all the time, on every platform, and appear as everything to everyone in every way. Yada yada yada.
The deluge of opportunity can be overwhelming.
Do I need a funnel? What even is a funnel? Should I create a trip wire, freebie, lead magnet, capture page?
Landing pages and LMS’s.
Autoresponders and automations.
Youtube, Insta, Facebook, Clubhouse, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn.
Offers, optins, open loops.
Headlines, subheads, body copy and bonuses.
Subject lines, hook points, and high ticket.
Masterminds and mini-courses.
Pixels, scripts, keyword and metrics.
USP’s, LTD’s, VSL’s, MVP’s, and Software As A Service.
Whatever happened to the dream of a business that brings me freedom?
I’ll tell you what happened. Your dream was buried in complexity.
Instead of remembering that value for value is the exchange we are making.
Instead of understanding that the most powerful description of a rich man is “content”.
Instead of comprehending that it is through faith and patience that you inherit your promise.
To get to simple we often pass through complex.
Before we arrive at easy, we need to pass through hard.
Before we know peace, we often face confusion.
Simple is hard to get to.
But it does not need to be complicated.
Come back to your why.
- What are you here for, and in what way can you help someone get from A to B?
- Find someone, one person, that you take on that journey and help them get there.
- Document the pathway that delivers a desirable result.
- Share the path.
- Sell the document.
- Grow in confidence.
With every experiment, you expand your experience.
Instead of waiting for some future perfection, press through your present questions.
“Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope…” (Romans 5:3–4 AMP)
Don’t be fearful to step out and offer your service to the world.
Keep it simple, and communicate it clearly.
Don’t wrap your worth in worthless complications.
You have something special to bring to the table, and the avenues that are open to you are not as scary as they seem.
You do not need to be everywhere. Be in one place well.
Work diligently toward competition of one part before trying to fix or fill the next.
Patiently build and ship, and then perfect.
I promise you, the most elegant systems are not the most elaborate.
Build your business to work for you, not the other way around.
At the end of the day, it’s not really about the pages, promos, popups, or presentations.
“the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” (Proverbs 10:4 KJV)
Find one pathway that fits your personality, and persist in it with simplicity in mind.
Don’t overcomplicate the processes required to take your prospect from A to B.
Complexity does not sell.
Simplicity works and serves your customer better, and perhaps more importantly it will serve you and keep you sane.
Most of the time we do not need to know or do more, we just need to do what we know.
