Who are you, really?
Is it possible to get below the surface and discover the essence?
Beyond the labels and signposts the world wants to place so it can locate and tame you?
You are more than what you do, what you wear, think or say.
More than the sum of the parts, an accumulation of experience, or a cluster of cells and senses.
Peel it all away, strip it back until you can go no further, and there beyond the atomic is the real you.
The Scriptures say of God, “He is a Spirit”.
And you are made in the image of the One who created you.
As a mirror of His being you too are spirit. You too are a creator by nature.
“I am a spirit”
I am made to be a maker.
From this indivisible, undeniable and delightful simplicity I inhabit every other mark of personality.
What I do is infused with who I am.
What I think and say is informed by this reality.
Identity forms the foundation for my operation in the world.
Peel
It back
To the core
And you’ll find
You are not striving
To become anything other
Than the person your Father
Lovingly knit in the womb
Infused with his nature
Clothed in humanity
Bringing a word
And a message

1 God.
1 truth.
1 liberating thought.
1 magnificent realisation.
1 inspiring acceptance of identity.
We are here to worship and lavish love.
One time before preaching at a church, back in my pastoral days, I prayed and asked the Father, “I want to reflect your nature through my words.”
He corrected me, and said, “Son, not reflect, project. I live in you.”
The light shines from within.
Who are you?
Not some inert object, a rock in space, displaying only what bounces off you, limited by circumstance and bound by convention.
You are not the moon to the Father’s sun. An automaton chained by fate.
You are a generator, a burning, living God-infused being unleashed to bring glory and light to the planet!
You are your Father’s child, bearing His nature.
You, my dear Christ-filled friend, are a creator!
