People search high and low for the master keys to creative breakthrough. They buy up online courses and chase entrepreneurial gurus like bees to honey. Tens of thousands are spent every minute of every day looking for the button to press or the lever to pull.
And all the time, the most potent, powerful and explosive instrument of breakthrough is right under their nose.
Right under your nose.
“God said…. and it was.”
“God said… and it was.”
“God said… and it was.”
“And God looked on all that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.” Genesis 1:1-31
Words.
Have.
Power.
To.
Create.
In Visible
Everything we see, the visible, tangible world around us, finds its genesis in the invisible. The spirit world is more real than the passing dust that most call reality. It is the prime world from which all substance came forth.
And the bridge between those worlds, the unseen and the seen? Words.
Your tongue carries the incredible capacity to produce life. Or death. Creative breakthrough, or hopeless atrophy.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].” (Proverbs 18:21 AMP)
I am not just talking hocus-pocus. There is science to this reality no less real than the cycles of wind and rain. Just as natural laws determine the direction of the weather, so it is in the spirit. The creativity cycle works this way every single time. It is an inviolable law.
Let’s work this a little more, dig deeper and unpack the process.
Everything begins in the heart.
From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
When the mouth speaks from the heart it brings things forth, for good or for bad.
We can track back and realise that what we hold in our hand today is a result of the words we spoke yesterday, and the words we spoke yesterday are the result of the realities we have filled our heart with on a daily basis.
What do you fill your heart with? What pours into your eyes and your ears on a daily basis? Do you feed on words that nourish your creative nature, or do you allow limitation to fill your thoughts and feelings?
Train the Engine
We need to train our heart to be the creative engine it was designed to be by God.
We need to make our mind receptive to filter the overflow, and release through words only those things we desire to see come to fruition.
We then need to live a life of integrity where our words and our actions agree. It is the doer of the word who will be blessed.
“But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).” (James 1:25 AMP)
Turn the Ship
The book of James paints revelatory pictures helping us to understand and apply this principle.
My favourite is his description of the tongue is the rudder of your life.
“Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member…” (James 3:4–5 KJV)
The words you choose to speak will turn the ship whichever way you will.
Are you saying, “I can”, or, “I can’t”?
Are you clipping your own creative wings with a dwarfed expression of your own possibilities?
My words will reach the ends of the earth and impact the world!
My story will act as a magnet, bringing men to their Saviour.
My creativity will unleash the gifts of others and bring them into their creative destiny.
This post will speak to the heart of the one reading it, and encourage them to carefully consider the power right underneath their own nose!
