It seems the Lord has me back at the keys for a season sowing seeds of encouragement.
Today’s word is one of BECOMING.
We are born into the family of God, but we become sons and daughters. It’s called growing up.
There’s a process of growth from seed to senior.
That’s true in the natural and also in the spirit.
The active ingredient in this supernatural growth is the Word of God.
From sincere milk to full-blown steak God’s Word is described as food for the inner man.
We’re told:
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2:2 KJV)
There’s no shame in being young in the things of God. Sucking on the Bible is where we all begin.
But we’re not supposed to stay there.
Like a child moves from milk to mush to meat so we, as believers, move from the basics to a full appreciation of the beauty and magnificence that’s hidden behind the cover of the Good Book.
Learn to digest God-size ideas.
Nourish yourself in vitamin-rich vital beliefs.
Put the fast food and noisy-nosh the world feeds you aside and pick up the real thing.
Spread your table with TRUTH and fill your dish with DIVINITY.
“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:12–14 KJV)
We learn and grow “by reason of use”.
A Bible on the shelf is no better than a doorstop.
Becoming skilful in God’s Word is no different than any other skill. It takes time and application to digest the Truth and make it your own.
The greatest investment you’ll ever make is quality time spent thoroughly understanding the privileges you have as a son or daughter in the house of the Father.
This is what becoming means. And it begins with the Book.
