Obstacles present themselves at every stage of the faith journey. But here at the outset, they are the most deadly.
Think back to Jesus’ parable of the sower.
Swooping in on the first sown seed comes satan:
“And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.” (Mark 4:15 KJV)
Don’t be a wayside woman.
Don’t let Satan swipe the seed before it hits the ground.
Cultivate your creative ideas. Incubate them in prayer, and look for ways to add substance to your hopes in the form of simple actions toward their fulfilment.
Satan may sow doubt, fear, insecurity. He may ridicule your lack of knowledge and experience. He may loudly shout excuses in your ear and place slippery reasoning under your feet.
But greater is He that is in you than any devil standing in your way.
Your God, the Creator of the universe, dwells with you and in you:
“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” (John 14:17 KJV)
Who or what continually convinces you that tomorrow is a better day to start? Why not today? After all, today was tomorrow yesterday, and tomorrow will be today in just a few hours.
Today is the day to make a difference.
Don’t wait on the wayside.
Move over to the prayside and let God lead you forward toward fulfilment.
