Where are you building your house?
Nowadays the most valuable property is not always brick-n-mortar – it is an idea inhabited and realized in the virtual world.
My advice?
Build a space, and invite people to pull up a chair. Spread the table with your offerings to share freely with those who are hungry.
Hold nothing back.
Ideas crystallised into consumables opens possibility. When you accept your commission to go and show who you are to the world the decision has been made. The work feels more natural.
And a house becomes a city as others light up and leave equipped to construct their own creative abodes. You inspire them. Your generosity lifts them, and your very existence and willingness to share your journey gives them permission to step more boldly into theirs.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden!” (Matthew 5:14)
That’s how Jesus described the process of us turning up.
The light that Father has planted in your heart is not made to be tucked away in obscurity.
Don’t “light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, so it gives light to all who are in the house.”
Lift it up, dear friend.
Thelonious Monk said, “A genius is the one most like himself.”
David Lee Martin said ? …
Get comfortable with putting yourself on the line. Pushing the sides of the box. Don’t let second-guessing stop you stepping out.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works…” (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)
