Speaking with the Holy Ghost early last week the words, ”I believe in You” came out of my lips. Maybe that’s not surprising, but what happened next in the conversation caught me off guard. Immediately He reflected back, speaking through the mirror of my heart, and repeated the words back to me.
“I believe in you”.
God sees you. God, your Father in Heaven, believes in you.
We need to let His voice be heard first in us, and then through us.
We need to allow Him to help us see others, so we can more effectively help them.
We need to be the reflector of His declaration, “I believe in you”, and bring those beautiful words to a world desperate to hear them from a genuine heart.

Yeah, today, what’s really on my heart, and I guess this to a degree, kind of as most things do, they they come out of. Our own experience and our own journey, a big part of me, kind of in what I’m seeking to do online and the things I’m building online is really just this decision to share the journey with other people, other like minded people, people who are walking the same road, people who are like maybe a way ahead of me, some of the people that I’m learning from and drawing from and seeking to kind of watch and and grasp something of that knowledge, that experience, that anointing, that thinking and mindset that will maybe get me to my next milestone and also people who I don’t even want to see behind me because it just sounds like some kind of like big race that not necessarily behind, but just people who are where I have been, you know, that are facing some of the challenges in their own thinking and product creation and book writing or whatever else it may be, whatever kind of whatever space it may be that they’re looking to fill, bringing their value online, you know.
00:01:35.850]
So we’re all at different stages. But what I found sometimes, and maybe it’s just a season that I’m in right now, a short season, I believe, but maybe it’s just where I’m at right now because we’re here in the UK, were locked down. There’s and so, so much. But it’s a very intense season for a lot of people. And there’s a lot of time that we’re spending maybe more time online with the different Zoome calls and different platforms that were kind of consuming content from.
00:02:12.010]
There’s a lot of re-evaluation going on, you know, people really having to kind of face and pivot and think, you know, well, how am I going to turn up? How am I going to show up in what what has been kind of the new normal, whatever that is. And sometimes I think in the in the noise of it all, we can feel as though our voice is not being heard. We can feel like just this kind of where in all of the business and all of the thoroughfare of online life, you know, how do we fit in?
00:02:50.470]
And, you know, I, I for 11 years, my family lived in London. We were church planters and we went up to engage with a work, a church planting work up there in London. And I will be honest with you, I found this city, the kind of busy noise and of the city. It’s one of the even though there are your in the mass of humanity and there are literally millions of people there, you can feel the most lonely in situations like that.
00:03:25.690]
You know, where where there is literally hundreds or thousands or millions of people in the crowd. You can feel as though you’re just this nameless, faceless number in in amongst the other nameless, faceless numbers. And I think even more so, we can sometimes feel that online and and particularly because online, really the whole emphasis of the online world, and particularly once you get into looking to market yourself online or to kind of stand out and and kind of bring something distinct to the marketplace, once you begin to engage in that world, you become a target for every advert that any marketer is ever putting out, you know, because because the online world is designed to to to find out who you are, find out what you’re interested in and find out what you’re looking to learn.
00:04:25.900]
Find out what you’re aspiring to, and then feed you with as many ads as it possibly can in order to get you to buy something. And like the reason I say that, and I’m an online marketing myself, so I’m not necessarily knocking that. But sometimes in the midst of that, you can feel bombarded by all of the noise and the voices and the things that will tug you in one direction and tug you in another. It can feel like as when I lived in London, if you go to some of the kind of hot spots you go over to Trafalgar Square or Leicester Square or Oxford Street, you can feel just like, man, this is lost in the crowd.
00:05:10.810]
There is an excitement there for sure. There’s a lot of life. There’s. Vibrancy, there’s opportunity, all of these other things, and you can see that, but you can often be left feeling a kind of a little spun out with it all. And I think sometimes there’s a danger we can find that even online as we seek to build our businesses, as we seek to kind of write our books or publish our books, as we seek to bring some value into that that marketplace.
00:05:46.070]
How do we how how can we be heard? You know, it’s it’s like who who would ever hear me? Who would ever see me in this in this big, big place full of so many worthy voices, so much more compelling than my own, you know? And I’m not saying that from a place of, like, stark insecurity in my Larna and I over the past five or six years have built a six figure publishing business. We’ve we’ve accumulated a fairly responsive email lists of thousands and thousands and thousands of people.
00:06:29.210]
We’ve ranked websites on the first page of Google for search terms like very desirable search terms for me as a minister like search term Jesus Christ first page was it was a big win for me back in the day. And so it’s not coming from a place of scarcity or as a place of insecurity or a place of fear or a place of longing for me. I believe anyways, I’m sharing these things from a place of reality, a place of like, wow, this world is so noisy, man.
00:07:09.500]
Like, what is this? How do we actually come into this and make a difference? How do we stand out? What do we just do? We like put on a big hat and like a shiny suit and play the ukulele and do a dance or do we just shout louder? Do we do we inflate our offers and our promises? They kind of just get so big that they fill the sky and blot out the sun? What is it?
00:07:40.790]
What does it take? And I just think that, again, as with everything, it’s a matter of Jesus. First, everything else follows. The Holy Ghost showed me such a such a wonderful scripture just the other day. I absolutely love this and I’ll just share it with you now, it says. And speaking of from the Book of Genesis and Sarah’s servant, Hagar. It was it was not a good day for a guy like, I guess a bad day for Hagar and Hagar’s like thrust out with her child.
00:08:22.570]
And the scriptures say that Hagar gave this name to the Lord. She encountered God in a fresh way in the day of her humiliation, in the day of her rejection, in the day of feeling that no one cared, no one wanted her, and no one saw her in the day, that she felt that she had no voice and no way forward. God met with her and spoke with her. And she she gave the name of the Lord who spoke to her.
00:08:55.990]
This name. He is the God who sees me for she said, I have now seen the one who sees me. And that’s why she said there was a well that at which she met him and she called that well, Bhaiyya Lahai Roee, the well of the living one. He sees me and I just want to kind of it certainly was a reminder for me and a helpful one if if I’m honest and I know I want to remind you today, whatever you’re doing, wherever you are, whatever you’re engaged in, whatever your hopes and aspirations may be, and whatever you want to create and put out to the world and bring value to to the world.
00:09:39.190]
I want to tell you this. God sees you. He sees you exactly where you’re at. And this is the thing, you know, he sees us at whatever stage we’re at on the journey. Sometimes you can feel very invisible. Sometimes you can feel as though your voice is no no louder than a tiny mouse like squeak in the din that’s happening around you. But let me encourage you today. God sees you. He sees you on your on your best days.
00:10:17.230]
He sees you on your worst days. He sees you when you feel as though you are like ready to conquer the world. And he sees you and you are crawling on the floor just hoping that something will change. You know, God is with you. He he is you. He sees you. And, you know, I was speaking with the Holy Ghost earlier in the week. And as I was praying, I often journal as I pray, I found that that’s a great way to kind of just just I don’t know, it just opens up conversation with with God in some some way into adding journaling to your usual kind of spiritual disciplines will revolutionise your life.
00:11:04.270]
Now, I’m not talking just like writing a diary, you know, dear diary, I’m talking about engaging in a two way conversation. And and so I’m writing then and I’m just thinking, God, you know, I believe in you, you know, in the in whatever’s taking place, Lord, I believe in you. And it was like the Holy Ghost just spun the whole thing round and repeated those words to me and said, Son, I believe in you.
00:11:36.370]
It was like that, that that mirror of the heart that we are made in his image, that he lives in us. He’s with us in that day, in the mirror of my own heart. I looked and as I said those words, Lord, I believe in you. They were reflected back to me. I want to encourage you. God sees you, God. He is you and God believes in you. Your father believes in you and and in that, you know, I believe that the world, the way that we can stand out in the marketplace is to be, number one, allow him to speak those words in us and to us.
00:12:25.970]
And then by the grace of God and the equipping of God, find ways to then say it to others. Those words I believe in you are so powerful and so affirming and so upbuilding and so, so empowering for the people that you’re called to reach and that you’re called to minister to. You know, I work at Larna and I work with a lot of Christian people, Christian creatives, authors, entrepreneurs, artists. And, you know, really that there’s not it’s not like we come with anything special.
00:13:08.900]
It’s not like we come with some kind of and like forgive that kind of likenesses. But it’s not like some magical pixie dust or something like that. We’ve simply learnt that, hey, God believes in us. And if we can believe in other people in the same way as he has drawn us out and allowed us to step out in some semblance of confidence to share what we have with others, that same faith can draw the grace and the and and the goodness and the gifts out of other people so they can step out and step in to what they want to do in the world.
00:13:51.500]
You know, I believe you can write a book that can change lives. I believe that you can kind of crystallise and package your value, your experience, your expertise in ways that you can deliver in a digital way that will help other people get their breakthrough. I believe that because I’ve seen it happen. I believe that because I’ve I’ve experienced it myself. Like I say, we’ve we’ve we’ve built and we’ve done the hard yards to get there. I’m not I’m not going to pretend that it’s just like, yeah, press a button, you know, like and press the return key and just watch the money, like, come into your bank account.
00:14:35.240]
It’s not it’s really not like that. Like building a business online is no different to building any other business, but it does have some great benefits. It means that you can reach people anywhere in the world at any time. It means that you can take your knowledge, your experience, your understanding, the anointing that God has put on you and you can begin to find your voice. And that voice can bring encouragement and upbuilding and uplifting to other people and help them do the same.
00:15:06.590]
It means that you can be freed from the that kind of tyranny of trading. You’re trading your time for dollars or pounds or euros or whatever it may be. It means that you can begin to build up a huge yet like with every piece of content that you put out, you have another asset out there in the marketplace that can open up conversation, that can bring people into your world, that can help develop that bridge of like and trust. And, you know, I just want you to like in that in all of that noise that I was talking about, let’s always remember to come back and stay true to who we are, stay true to the one that we are following and and the stewardship that he has given us.
00:16:05.180]
And knowing that he sees us, knowing that we are not lost in the crowd, knowing that what we have to bring is not just kind of like a wisp of breath that will be lost the moment it leaves us. But actually he is there with us. Whatever the stage of our journey, whether it’s right at the beginning of our journey, whether we’re kind of well in the trenches, whether we’re out there on the battlefield, whether we’re in the general’s tent, it really doesn’t matter where you are.
00:16:42.440]
The Holy Ghost is there. Not only does he see you and this is the thing, you know, like knowing that, like, God, you get me and you get me, you get me, you get my wife. You understand my children. You understand our situation, Lord. He sees you and because he sees you, because he knows where you are positioned, he knows how to take you to your next milestone, whatever that milestone may be.
00:17:16.110]
And, you know, let me encourage you to strengthen your heart in him today. Trust him for the next step. Trust him for the next stage of the journey. And remember, remember, remember the 5th of November. Remember that God is with is in you and he sees you and above all else, man, he believes in you. Well, thanks for listening, hopefully. It’s been an encouragement to you today, if you want to connect any further, you can do so through my website at Davidleemartin.com.
00:17:54.380]
Have a great day.
