Well, happy Tuesday, folks, hope all is well in your household. I’m having a few technical issues with my website at the moment, so I’m just working my way through that. But I have determined every day to write something to jump in here and share my heart, take some time to go live, and then to kind of pass that over into a podcast. So, you know, this this content creation journey that I’m on and I’m sure you’re on as well.
00:00:45.070]
If you’re a Christian creative and artist and entrepreneur of any kind, you can’t really escape the fact that everything is online. You know, online is the new offline. That’s where everything is happening. That’s where people are getting their information. And that’s where people are connecting. That’s where people are learning. That’s where people are selling. It’s all here in the online world. It’s a busy, busy place and can can sometimes feel very cluttered. And this morning, I decided to read a bit.
00:01:21.550]
It’s actually kind of something that I wrote about quite a while ago. There are three things that I really enjoy kind of discussing, reading about learning about growing in and sharing. And I love to talk about creativity. I love to talk about faith. And I love the whole idea of simplicity and like really looking to develop a simple, uncluttered life. And by uncluttered, I don’t just mean going in and taking getting rid of all your old clothes or kind of clearing out the cupboards, although that is very much a part of it.
00:02:01.480]
I think I know when when I’m feeling cluttered inwardly, sometimes a good clear out outwardly can really be incredibly helpful and somewhat healing in some ways. But I really want to talk about unclutter the soul, you know, the importance of understanding that it’s from the heart that the issues of Lee flow. You know, we are a people who produce who share our worth with the world, who share our content, our ideas, our products, books, publications with other people.
00:02:44.710]
But ultimately, it all flows from the inside. And sometimes that flow can be clogged. Sometimes that flow can be restricted. The life of that flow can be restricted because similar to kind of having a your your environment overrun with just useless stuff or even detrimental stuff, sometimes inside life can end up in the same kind of situation. And I think the the biggest clogging of the arteries of the heart is unforgiveness. I think it’s very easy. Well, I say very easy.
00:03:32.290]
It’s very easy to pick up Hertz as you go through life. It’s very difficult not to encounter situations and circumstances where where unforgiveness is seems like the natural response where hurt and shutting down and shutting out seems like the natural thing to do and where kind of those things can get can really root in. I liken it a bit to I like it. I mean, Jesus himself said this, said just so. He said, Jesus said to the disciples, it’s impossible that offenses will not come.
00:04:21.240]
It is impossible that offenses will not come. And you know, where anyone is ever lived for more than a few years would probably wholeheartedly agree with him. The thing is, what do we do with those offenses when they do come? What do we do with offenses that maybe have happened way back at some point? And a lot of those things can be very understandable going on a reasonable, logical level, you could say, man, that happened, they said this, so they did that.
00:04:58.740]
It’s only right that I kind of carry this resentment in my heart. But ultimately, that’s a bit like saying, you know, that’s like getting kind of fat around your arteries and saying it’s OK. You know, you’re willing to have a heart attack and die. You know, it’s like these kind of this clutter that can build up in our soul can really prevent us moving forward. The creative heart is really a healed heart because the creative heart has to be open to allow a flow of life to kind of spill through and out of it with some sense.
00:05:42.990]
A life can be ministered to people in whatever area you kind of whatever audience you’re speaking to and holding hurts on the inside is like having a heaven that that like that pipeline of grace that’s coming from your spirit, this pipeline of grace. And God is designed to allow himself and you your personality and your gifting to flow out to the world. It’s like having that just like absolutely jammed full of kind of unspeakable mess. Yeah. And and and it’s I’ve got to say, it’s easy to hoard Heard’s.
00:06:27.840]
It’s easy to kind of stack them up as you go through life. But we’ve got to swing back around and we’ve got to understand that I liken it to like I don’t know if you ever seen people do bungee jumping or I saw Adam a affair that we went to one time. They used a bungee jumping kind of elastic and they would tie the elastic to a post. And this this particular ride or game you had to you strapped to the bungee and you had to run as hard as you could and try and stretch in order to reach and take a hold of something at the end of this kind of lengthy course.
00:07:13.320]
And of course, you’re running away at first, you’re running down to get it. You’re trying to pick up speed, trying to pick up strength. But then the stretch begins to happen. And just before you reach the goal, the bungee cord would pull you back almost every time. And I think unforgiveness can be like that. Something can happen at some point in time. And it’s like a steak is hammered into the ground and a bungee cord is tied to that steak at that moment, that moment of the fence and then tied or attached to the heart and to the soul.
00:07:56.130]
And then we go ahead in life and we kind of have ideas. We we we seek to grow. We seek to move forward. We seek to prosper. And it’s a bit like that course in that fairground game that I was at, we get so far we’re reaching for what we know God has designed and desired for us. We’re reaching for the answers to our prayers. And it’s like we’re just almost there and we’re reaching to take a hold of it and then, bam, it pulls us back and and like really bounces us back to that moment of offence.
00:08:37.050]
And, you know, really the only way to pull that stake up and to detach that bungee cord of a fence from your hard is to forgive. It really is as simple as that. I mean, Jesus, talking of, like, how to receive answers to prayer, Jesus made it so clear. He said, therefore, I say to you, whatever things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you’ll have them. Now, that’s it.
00:09:07.830]
Like a like a blanket promise. That’s that’s pretty awesome. And when you say. And praying, but when you start praying, forgive if you have old against any that your father also, which is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasses, but if you do not forgive, neither will your father, which is in heaven. Forgive your trespasses. Now, that’s an awesome promise and a very frightening kind of action. Yet there are two promises here.
00:09:39.750]
Like God promises. Look, if you won’t deal with your offence, I won’t deal with the answers to your prayer. As soon as you let go of that, as soon as you pull that stake up out of the ground and then you’ll be able to reach your goal, you’ll be able to reach those answers and actually take hold of them without being always bounced back. You know, the Holy Ghost himself is not going to pull that stick up for you.
00:10:10.020]
You have to go there. You have to really go through the. And, you know, I’m not saying it’s an easy thing, but you have to go through the pain of actually pulling that up and understanding that in releasing someone else through forgiveness, you are actually ultimately releasing yourself. And, you know, oftentimes what will happen is we grow, we expand, we move forward. We feel as though we’re on the verge of breakthrough. And then it’s like this this attachment of this soul in the heart just keeps bringing us back and bringing us back.
00:10:54.900]
And I just my encouragement to you today is, you know, you have a creative destiny. You have a you have a creative calling. You have something special and wonderful and unique to bring to the world. And sometimes when when the pipes are clogged or when you’re attached to things that you ought to detach from in the past, it can really prevent you from walking into the fullness of that. You know, we just we all face circumstances. We all face challenges in our heart.
00:11:36.720]
We all have encountered those offenses that Jesus spoke about. But wow, what an incredibly high price we pay to keep a hold of them. And so I just encourage you to really search your heart. There’s there’s such an amazing verse and it’s one that we’re all probably very familiar with. I know the plans the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you’ll call upon me and pray to me and I will listen to you.
00:12:14.820]
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. And I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and bring you back from captivity. And we do. We want to be. We want to be set free from any captivity to those hurts or offenses so we can begin to move forward. So just I guess today I’m just wanting to say, hey, let’s unclutter our souls, let’s unburden ourselves. Let’s cast off some of those heavy weights that maybe we’ve been carrying.
00:12:53.370]
Let’s understand that, you know, simplifying and cluttering and cleaning house isn’t just about sweeping things under the carpet. Sometimes you actually have to lift the carpet up and like, face what’s hidden under there, what’s festering under there and say I’m no longer I’m no longer going to allow this to prevent me from stepping in and stepping forward to my destiny. So God bless you today. Let me just pray as we close. Father, I just thank you for your Amazing Grace.
00:13:28.920]
I thank you, Father. Your desire is that we, as creative people, are a people of generous spirit and generous heart. And that father, a generous heart, is one not one that holds hurt, but one that is healed, one that allows you to come in and ministered deep, real significant healing to the core of who we are. You know, I say in in the blog post that I wrote today, you know, the first go to the core, first go deep.
00:14:06.450]
Yeah. And then you can go to the world. Go deep before you go wide. Allow God to come in and Minister Grace and healing to your soul so you can then confidently step out and begin to share your worth with the people who need to receive from what the Holy Ghost, what God the Father has planted within you. Well, thanks for listening. Hopefully it’s been an encouragement to you today. If you want to connect any further, you can do so through my website at Davidleemartin.com.
00:14:42.380]
Have a great day.
