Great outpourings of power begin with great outpourings of prayer.

The rains of revival in the House of God always begin with the houses of God pouring out their hearts.

History has taught us that great outpourings begin with great outpourings, you know, the reigns of revival that we’ve witnessed in the House of God throughout the generations have always begun with the houses of God pouring out their hearts in prayer. And in case you kind of miss my meaning, there you are, the house of God. You know, the scriptures tell us that our body has become the Temple of the Holy Ghost. He is in us and were not our own.

You know, we’re also told that we have been built together as a habitation for God through the spirit. And prayer is the primary means through which Popper promotes his purpose is on Earth. Our father promotes and moves forward. His purpose is through prayer. His designated that devotion to prayer is the platform upon which his actions in history will stand, not on the strength of man, not on the genius of women, nor the perfections of natural talent or skill.

The heights are reached by humbling. You know, ladders may exist and really many people are eagerly climbing them, even in church circles, you know, whatever ladders and whatever walls they may be leaning against. But the way to the top is really not three prideful accomplishment. It’s on their knees that the real accomplishments are secured and that Jesus was our forerunner. And he accomplished the greatest victory in all of history by humbling, by humbling himself to the very lowest place.

You know, Luke 9:31, says his decease three, which he would accomplish his decease, which he accomplished at Jerusalem, you know, in in prayer, I think, you know, that they it’s really through the cross, through the humbling of Christ. Salvation was secured for everyone, for every single person on this planet. It was through going to the very depths to the lowest place that he was able to lift people to a higher place.

The highest, most noble purpose ever undertaken was accomplished through death. And prayer, in a sense, is a death to self. It’s really a declaration of utter dependence. Every time we come to the closet, we’re admitting weakness and embracing his strength through the fervent exercise of prayer. We die to our own abilities, and we accept the reality that without him we can do nothing. John 15:5, Jesus makes the picture really clear, man, he says, I am the vine, you are the branches he that abides in me and I in him.

The same brings forth much fruit, for without me you can do nothing. And from this joyous place of humility, all things become possible because with him we can do all things with God. Nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37. Maybe it’s it. Maybe it’s just me, but I suspect not. But I want to experience more of what God can do, you know. And if that requires that I trust less in my own ability and my own intelligence, so be it.

The liberty that results from a life thrown on the rock is really indescribable and without price. You know, what we need is so much more than any man or movement can provide. The darkness that envelops humanity right now, you know, cannot be extinguished with flickering candles of human effort. We need the blazing flame of the all consuming fire of heaven to fill the skies and light the hearts of a disconnected generation. Oh, God, that our hearts would break with yearning for the multitudes that stand right now in the valley of decision that our prayers, entwined together with heavenly passion and covenant promise, would become the ropes that lift those souls to salvation, prayer and prayer alone.

It is adequate enough to plumb the depths and drag men from the grip of their own delusion. You know, Paul, in his letters, like in prayer to childbirth co labouring with God to bring men and women to a new birth. You know, there’s a long citation here that I want to bring from the Book of Isaiah, but just read it and hear the father’s heart in Isaiah 42 verses 13 to 18, it says The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man.

Other translations say, like a mighty warrior, he will stir up jealousy like a man of war. He will cry, yes, raw. He shall prevail against his enemies. And then God himself begins to speak and is quoted and he says, I have a long time hold in my peace. I’ve been still and refrained myself. But now will I cry like a travelling woman. I will destroy and devour at once. I will make waste mountains and hills and dry up all their herbs.

I will make the rivers, islands and dry up the pools. I will bring the blind, by the way, that they knew not. I will lead them in paths that they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, the crooked things straight. These things will I do to them and not forsake them. They shall be turned back. You are our gods here, you deaf look you blind that you may see. And like in this picture, we see that the work of prayer is not always a pretty one. Sometimes it’s messy, sometimes it’s loud. Sometimes we are engaged in a warfare and we have held our peace for long enough. I pray, Lord, that a cry would rise from the depths of your heart, like that of a woman in pangs, like a roaring man of war, and that that roar and that that cry would come through the hearts and the mouths of your people in your church.
